His words elicited the desired emotional response in the viewing audience. Almost none of whom will ever read this follow-up article revealing him to be a fraud.

Even if they were to read it, they wouldn't care; all they care about is their emotional response, confirmation bias, and the opportunity to virtue signal rather than the slow but thorough evidence gathering and investigative process built on a foundation of critical thinking, logic, and reason.

Spainhouer is a symptom of a society demanding their drug: the opportunity to faux emote over a tragedy they weren't even involved in. A drug the likes of Spainhouer is all too happy to supply.
