If you open any religious text that is from the 1950s or earlier, it did not state that men and women are equals. There are several philosophers that state an equal society will only equal its destruction. Equality is a human construct. It does not exist in nature. But Nature only takes what it needs and allows the ecosystem to balance itself out. Humans feel the need to subjugate and exploit each other. But when a civilization breaks down, Natural law prevails and the sexes resume their instinctual place.
