The reason Indian drivers cut a hole in the truck to use as a mobile toilet is to save time. If you are driving to point A to point B with a shift of rotating drivers, then you have a shorter turn around time and use less fuel if your not stopping every time one of the drivers needs to urinate.
Not to say this is in any way acceptable, just the rationale they use.
