I quit high school in 1982 and not once did I ever have an employer ask to see a diploma. If it asked on an application if I graduated, I'd just mark yes. Never had to verify ever. I had one boss say, "I don't care what you've been taught. What have you done and what do you know?"

I saw a teacher ready to give a nice beating to one of my classmates. And I mean a nice beating, closed fists... Who would dare to do something remotely similar today? Bunch of cowards.

@The Man Inside: one of my teachers did that in 2000, he beat the shit out of an Asian lunatic 15 years old guy who punched him.

@Generationless: that was just retarded. Children learn by playing, yet they are stuck in a chair inside 4 walls for hours. Beating, well, at the right time may do something, all the time just create angry people.

They really don't like the question "why?". So many teacher's lost their mind when I'd ask why. As if I was attacking them personally not the concept in question. Eventually it became clear.

I had the same. But also had a couple teacher who would go the extra mile when we had doubts. But it was also another era...
