There is a saying I heard that goes, “A veterinarian is better than a doctor because a veterinarian has to correctly diagnose and treat a being incapable of telling him what it is experiencing.” I know some “problem patients” need to be tuned out, but the patient, even with no medical education, knows more of what they are feeling and experiencing than any dog or cat. No excuse for ignoring the information the patient is offering.

Oh the stories I could tell you (through both family members as patients as well as my own brief time as a CNA working for the VA) of the utter incompetence of the higher ups there. There is a reason so many vets prefer going to non governmental hospitals when they need anything of importance

A tip for dealing with the VA. If you aren’t close enough to the VA, medical services from other hospitals should be covered (check first). My dad had a local VA clinic, but the VA hospital was too far away, and the local hospital did most everything. I have my horror stories of this hospital, but he got better service than he could expect from the VA. To be fair, we are in an area with one of the better VA hospitals because of how many veterans retire to this area.

Exceptionally rare. It’s disgusting how they try to downplay these athletes dropping dead as not being “unusual.” Okay, yeah, you can use that word, but that only means it has happened in the past. It’s the frequency of occurrence shooting through the roof since the poke was mandated that makes it significant.
