I will add that this is also why (I believe) men betraying others also hits harder than women on an unconscious level because unconsciously we all understand that men have an inherently higher moral code: while we don't want women to lie we know women can't help themselves and must have that under some kind of control (usually their fathers, husbands, and even their sons).
