what's funny about that is steamy pile of shit wants to go all in with linux, i mean gaben said this because he used to work for micorsoft and he predicts the future business will become far better using linux, the issue is getting people to use it, he kind of got some people on board with the idea of his steam deck, but unfortunatly some games aren't really meant to run on linux because the need to run on microsoft is much higher in comparison, but he showed just how much money people would save if they went with linux and if they catered to linux instead of microsoft. i think last year i heard that china dropped using microsoft as an operating system for linux because it was far too expensive to be using microsoft an they were aparently using the program to spy on them, so they made a choice to cut them off, that should have sprung others to jump on the same idea, but microsoft is still the big baddy that can't be completly shut down.

@KEEPER: yes, its fucking backwards lol... while steaming pile of shit is huge on censoship and blocking people from playing the games they actually paid for, GoG who is mostly freespeech and allows you to download all games DRM free still they are wishywashy on linux or just outright avoiding it like a plague.... you would think that GoG would welcome the higher sales from linux users if they integrated wine/etc. and made GoG galaxy for linux too

@sbseed: i first started my steam account back in 2014ish, and that was my first ever owned PC, and i still use it to this day, and it took me a long damn time to know what i was doing while using it, it still confuses the fuck out of me most days with some of the things i need to do in order to use it, but for the most part i use it to visite websites and play my games, i only came to steam because i heard that most new games offer controller support because before i owned my PC i was a console gamer, and even though i learned how to mod my games to a degree, i still consider myself a noob in what i know and understand when it comes to owning a PC, so if i were to move over to linux i would have big issues making the move, plus i have heard it's a bit harder to install mods on the linux, so your right when it comes to overall support, the reason why most people don't just go and use linux is simply because the support for it is lost on most people, but i hear every day linux gets better and better which is still needed and i'm glad to see it progress into the future as time goes on, i think eventually we will all embrace it at some point in the future, but for now it's still kind of a niche market and needs so much more support to get people onboard fully.

@KEEPER: i had started with the orange box, in other words when steam first started... at first it was great but then steam and valve decided they didnt need to do any actual work anymore and everything started heading for the shit ocean.

@KEEPER: Bro, watch Switched To Linux and Gardner Bryant (The Linux Gamer) for some Linux tutorials and industry trends: Both are on YT and Odysee though SWitchedTL i also on Bitchute. I have a STEAM deck: It has issues with visual novels (the hentai kind), but they grade the games so you know if they play. As for Linux, I forgot about Cent OS: The Deck as Steam OS. I had a SUSE II desktop, but it got fired., rain storm/lightning. Anyway, I was leaning towards Open SUSE until I listene to Switched; now, I am leaning towards Fedora (RedHat Lite.) I used RedHat in chemical labs. There's Mint OS which is popular for Windows using, but stay away from the regular Ubuntu-- they are not verifying software. Ubuntu Unity might be an exception. Anyways, have a good day. WINE is good; Steam automatically incorporates it.

@WMHarrison94: it all sounds very confusing to be honest with you, like half of what you wrote i have no idea what everything was.

@KEEPER: Linux has disttos-- distributions. Think of it as Windows but as 95, 98, NT, 2000, Win7, WIN 8, Win 10, etc. They were "customized." The main confusing thing is if they are KDE Plasma, which is new, Arch, which is oldest, and uhm... fuck. Brainfart. Most Linux distributions are KDE or this one I can't remember... Arch is kind of making up a come back. The programs are usually compatible on all and there is a thing that acts like WIN Store I r Apple App Store... Snapchap is one you want to stay away from-- they added it to Ubuntu, but they don't test or verify the software... so some Spyware and scams are released through them. Sorry, these terms are on the tip ok f my tongue: I just can't remember then fully.
