US Navy releases video of ‘Iranian vessel’ trying to seize oil tankers

The US Navy has released a video which it claims is of Iranian forces attempting to seize two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. The footage, published on Wednesday, allegedly shows an Iranian vessel approaching a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker, as well as bright spots which the Navy says are caused by Iranian forces firing on the ships. <br> <br>An accompanying statement from the Navy read, ‘On July 5, US forces prevented two attempted commercial tanker seizures by the Iranian Navy after the Iranians had opened fire in one of the incidents near the coast of Oman.
