US ready to cross China's red line with upcoming Taiwan visit

China should have developed a troop-carrying submarine that could move a lot of infantry and amphibious vehicles with little chance of early detection. It mission is completely different from a regular attack or missile submarine and can be built without the extra peformance that those boats require. It doesn't have to dive deep, it doesn't need nuclear power, it has to have a huge horizontal elliptical shape for the hull for internal volume and stability. When surfaced, only the top deck is exposed and no sail sticking up. Internal doors in the roof hinge forward and lower to become roll-on roll-off ramps to enable rapid egress of men and machines to the water. Because of its flat elliptical cross section, it could traverse the long shallows of western Taiwan. Or approach from the southwest where it's a bit deeper and offload at the southern tip. Since the trip is relatively short, the approach can be done entirely on the battery and commence recharging via snorkel while on station. Rather than a noisy diesel, a gas turbine for that purpose should be designed.
