stop quoting Scripture. You clearly don’t have the background or the inclination to fully understand. Veganism and vegetarianism simply are not propagated in the Bible.

Balanced diet consisting of meat vegetables fruits and fats are virtually universal in benefit to humans. That is of course taking into consideration the quality of the individual food products. Don’t eat fast food And concentrate on wild caught fish with grass fed beef. Of course organic vegetables and fruits or of paramount concern

From Tertullian's On Fasting Chapter IV; AD 213: "For, at the beginning indeed, it had only been the food of herbs and trees which He [God] had assigned to man: 'Behold, I have given you all grass fit for sowing, sending seed, which is upon the earth; and every tree which hath in itself the fruit of seed fit for sowing shall be to you for food."

Are you going to say that Tertullian, father of western Christianity, clearly does not have the background or inclination to fully understand Scripture, or will you humble yourself to admit your error and learn something?

@KCxSunbeam: As I am completely unfamiliar with Father Tertullian’s interpretations or what version of the Bible he draws those interpretations from I would not be able to form a conclusion if it is valid or not. I would just after reading the scripture say that it does not forbid meat eating, it just doesn’t include it.

@KCxSunbeam: Christians must be very careful when reading scripture that is not from a fully vetted source. All books of the apocrypha to include for example the New World translation is not to be accepted as the word of God.

@KCxSunbeam: I can speak of nutrition for optimal performance in general. Human beings of this age are simply omnivores. We may be able to survive but definitely not thrive on Plant based foods alone. I do have over two decades of competing at high levels in two separate sports. Rock climbing and national level paintball. Both physically demanding In strength and stamina.

@KCxSunbeam: My fitness training was professionally monitored and consisted of sport specific training along with Olympic weightlifting and high-level CrossFit competition.

@Heavyhand: Though I thank you for participating on my thread, please combine your comments to one post next time. I NEVER said that the Bible forbids meat eating, and I myself am a meat eater. What I'm saying is that supposedly there was a time when people were supposed to only eat plants and their bodies could have been built differently. The problem I have is with people saying you HAVE TO eat meat. And for anyone who is vegetarian I would always advise them to consult a doctor and take ample vitamins to be safe. Plus, the average person does not engage in your level of activity.

@KCxSunbeam: Oh ok. I totally get it now. Oh and sorry about the multiple comments. I’m a little new to this conversation window and it throws me off if I can’t see everything that I wrote all at once. oh yes and I totally agree with you that if anybody wants to go vegetarian or vegan they definitely need to consult more than just a doctor to maintain overall health. I have in my past seen people try and do just that but it’s just so ridiculously hard but I just can’t imagine it being really feasible. Possible but not feasible.

@Heavyhand: I agree that Veganism (no animal byproducts whatsoever) is ridiculously extreme, but not straight vegetarianism. It's been said that ancient Greek and Roman soldiers were vegetarians. Whether that's true or not, I don't know.
