People who cannot swim - it's surprisingly easy to stay afloat.....
And they do everything BUT what they need to do to stay afloat.
And when people drown - it's usually very quick, quiet - there one minute and dead at the bottom of the river / pond / swimming pool - the next.

you have to approach the drowning person with an attitude of attack. Slap or Punch the approaching patient. They are in death throes and will take you with them. Slap or punch the drowning person to subdue them. Go behind them and link your forearm under their chin. Keep their head above water and swim backwards to safety. kEEP IN MIND YOU MAY HAVE TO RE SUBDUE OVER A LONGER DISTANCE
