Viral video shows Indian police beating Muslim detainees

NOTE: This video contains disturbing content, viewer discretion advised. <br>Footage has surfaced showing what appears to be police in India’s Uttar Pradesh state beating a group of Muslim protesters with large sticks. Perhaps more shockingly, the footage was originally published by a member of India’s ruling BJP party, who praised the actions of the officers. <br> <br>Protests had broken out in the city of Saharanpur on Friday, amid ongoing outrage over inflammatory remarks about the Prophet Mohammed made by a BJP spokesperson. As the protests continued, a number of properties belonging to Hindus were attacked, causing several injuries.
